Communion is my favorite ritual of the Christian Tradition. It is the ultimate equalizer, the ultimate unifier. We come together around the Communion Table to celebrate the goodness of humanity as modeled by Christ.
This coming Sunday is usually our Communion Sunday. While we won't be together physically, we can join together in this most basic ritual. It is a moment to reflect on your relationship with God, to forgive yourself for past mistakes, and to set new intentions for the days ahead.
Traditionally, bread or matzah and grape juice or wine are used as communion elements. I invite you to use whatever you have on hand - donuts and coffee, cookies and milk, toast and orange juice, crackers and water, etc.
Moving forward, every third Sunday of the month, we will have Communion together!
